➝ I'm Mimi. I'm seventeen and almost a senior in high school.
➝ I read a lot, I'm obsessed with music, and I unwind by writing. I sing, dance, and act (though not always very well). I eat more junk food than I should, can't live without technology, and organize everything.
➝ I like art, bagels, caffeine, chocolate, equal rights, fandom, fleece blankets, indie bands, moral ambiguity, movies, oreos and peanut butter, plaid, photography, raptor Jesus, reading, sailing, singing, wearing dresses, writing, and yoga. I don't like headaches, iced coffee, stupid people, and surprise!JDM.
➝ Sometimes I get nosebleeds and cough up blood when I'm supposed to be onstage. I struggle with anxiety, depression, OCD, and being clumsy.

To get it out of the way, here are the shows I like and pairings I ship. under here )

what's public: fic, famixes, most memes, and other fannish things.
what's not: original fiction, music posts, personal stuff, rants.
my journal contains: general insanity, fangirling, ramblings, abuse of semicolons, dashes, and parentheses, capslocking, swearing, and photos of attractive people. every once in a while, there may actually be an insightful post, but I wouldn't count on it.

Please do not add me unless you comment first! Introduce yourself! Tell me something about yourself and/or what fandoms/ships we have in common.

Take your bank before I pay you out

I promise this, promise this

Check this hand cause I'm marvelous

4. Bohemian Rhapsody - Jonathan Groff & Vocal Adrenaline

▲ I love it when my boss emails me back to let me know if we have a meeting tomorrow.

▲ It turns out my library card was just expired, though I still haven't gotten around to ordering the books I want.

▲ I'm visiting Clark tomorrow, so hopefully that goes well. I always feel so nervous during the interview.

▲ Because I'm a crazy person, I'm doing a genderswapped Generation Kill picspam, and writing a few sentences about each person. Anyone art-inclined willing to talk me through a few things? How do I get all the images the same size?

I visited Simmons today. I really liked it, despite the fact that it's all-female. The tour guide started talking to me about the required classes, and testing out of math if you get above a 600 on the SAT; the equivalent (I don't remember the number) on the ACT; a 3, 4, or 5 on an AP Math exam; or a high score (also don't remember the number) on the SAT Subject Test in Math, and I kind of snorted. Should probably keep that in check.

I'm too lazy to do a real update now; I'll post one tomorrow. In the meantime:

Pocahontas

Disney didn’t tell you

that when she first

slept with Captain Smith
she was 12 years old and
at that time
organized nude dancing
by her nude friends
for the delectation of the colonists.
If this disturbs you deeply
you’re probably beyond help.

You should go to Orlando

and stand in line for three hours in the rain.

Take a snapshot of Goofy.

Oh, two other things: in colonial
Virginia the age of sexual consent
was 10. And, if you eat
of the fruit of Disney
you will die.

I really want to write a post-series (somewhat later) GK fic in which Nate's running for president and Brad doesn't really go with him but he makes ~~SECRET STOPS~~ at Nate's hotel room and then sometimes attends fundraising dinners or speeches! And no one suspects anything because RAY is Nate's publicist! He is loud and makes people pay attention and Nate told him if he ever said anything half as stupid as he did in Iraq, Nate would make fucking sure that Ray never got Ripped Fuel or Skittles or pussy again! And Brad put the fucking fear of God in Ray—just because they're not on active duty anymore doesn't mean that Brad's lost any control over Ray. Mike Wynn is Nate's running mate (Nate trusts him, and he needs someone a little older, a little more conservative than he is if he plans on winning); Lilley is totally his advertiser/graphic designer/tech person. Godfather was Nate's campaign manager for, like, a week, but now he's just some guy Nate occasionally (very occasionally) goes to when he needs advice. (Patterson's managing now, but if all fails, Poke will end up doing it). Wright is Nate's war scribe speechwriter, and Ray totally hits on his girlfriend when Wright brings her to HQ.

SOMEONE STOP ME FROM DOING THIS I HAVE A FRENCH EXAM TOMORROW AND THE SAT THIS WEEKEND AND AT LEAST FIVE OTHER FICS I HAVE TO WRITE OMG WHAT IS EVEN GOING ON?

Instead of studying for my English final, I coded this. My dad is so pissed at me, but it's like, Really? I studied for about 30 minutes last year and whipped out a 94. In the hardest sophomore English. I'll probably go over vocab a bit before bed; I do need to study some for Bio and stop reading GK fic, though, after I eat.

May 2010 Writing Roundup

Before the Flashes Woke Us
Supernatural; Sam/Jess; pg; 150 words
Jess can't get to sleep if Sam can't.

if you manage to fade away from the reality of it all
Glee; Brittany/Santana; pg; 256 words

Ashes to Ashes
Supernatural; Jo/Ruby; pg-13, 130 words
Can you imagine the air filled with smoke?

The Other Side of This Life (The Grass is Always Greener Remix)
Supernatural; Sam/Jess; R; 2,517 words
"How'd you know that today's my birthday?"
Remix of the birthday of my life by [livejournal.com profile] 2ndary_author.

Blacking Out the Friction
Generation Kill; Brad/Nate; nc-17; 828 words
Nate's stretched out beside him, wearing nothing but regulation black briefs.

And a meme, just because! If you could remix any of my stories from any of my fandoms, which would it be and how would you remix it?

Top 5 Songs - May 2010

5. Last of the American Girls - John Gallagher Jr., Chase Peacock, Gerard Canonico, Rebecca Naomi Jones, Tony Vincent & The Company
She wears her overcoat for the coming of the nuclear winter

She is riding her bike like a fugitive of critical mass

She's on a hunger strike for the ones who won't make it for dinner

She makes enough to survive for a holiday of the working class

4. Know Your Enemy - John Gallagher Jr., Michael Esper, Tony Vincent & The Company
The insurgency will rise

When the blood's been sacrificed

Don't be blinded by the lies

In your eyes

3. The Weight - Sherie Rene Scott, Betsy Wolfe & Lindsay Mendez
I picked up my bag, I went lookin' for a place to hide
When I saw Carmen and the Devil walkin' side by side
I said, "Hey, Carmen, come on, let's go downtown."
She said, "I gotta go, but my friends can stick around."

2. One Less Bell to Answer/A House Is Not a Home - Kristen Chenoweth & Matt Morrison
Each time the doorbell rings I still run / I don't know how in the world
To stop thinking of him / 'Cause I still love him so [...]
I'm not meant to live alone / Turn this house into a home
When I climb the stair / And turn the key / Oh, please be there / Still in love with me

1. Hey Ya - Stark Sands (I know, right? I don't like the original, but this is so good.)
We get together / Oh, we get together
But separate's always better / When there's feelings involved
If what they say is / "Nothing is forever"
Then what makes, then what makes, then what makes / Love the exception
oldfashionedmelody: (Default)
Stark Sands and Yvonne Strahovski have been voted off. In other words, you guys are smoking something that I sort of want.

THE RULES:
1. I have picked 10 female and 10 male celebs I find attractive (in no particular order in alphabetical order, as my OCD prevents me from doing otherwise).
2. Every day, I will make a poll and you'll have to vote for the ONE girl and ONE guy you find the least attractive (not so much who you LIKE, but who you find hot.)
3. After 24 hours, the poll will be closed and the man and woman with the most votes will be disqualified. There will then be a new poll with the remaining contestants.
4. After ten days, there will be two winners!

[Poll #1572982]

Today, for the first and only time, I listened to Cory Monteith "sing" so I wouldn't have to listen to someone else talk. I ended up with a headache anyway, though, because the other person is so loud.
